&#8220;to teach&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Tuddu<\/em><\/strong> means <strong>to<\/strong> <strong>teach<\/strong> by speaking, by writing (e.g., on a blackboard), by showing (e.g., pictures)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em><strong>Tumuddu,<\/strong><\/em> \u201cTeach\u201d;<br><br><strong><em>Muntudtuddu,<\/em><\/strong> \u201che (she) goes on teaching,\u201d&nbsp;<br><br><strong><em>Muntuddu,<\/em><\/strong> \u201cteacher\u201d;<br><br><em><strong>Mangituddu,<\/strong><\/em> \u201cperson who actually teaches something\u201d;<br><br><strong><em>Nituddu,<\/em><\/strong> \u201cit is (was) taught\u201d;<br><br><strong><em>Tudduwana nan inap-apuna<\/em><\/strong> [cf. under apu], \u201che (she) teaches his (her) grandson (granddaughter)\u201d;<br><br><strong><em>Ituddunay baki<\/em><\/strong> [q.v.], \u201che teaches the ritual invocations and prayers\u201d;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also means <strong>to point<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Ituddum ke ha-on di kallanan<\/em><\/strong> [cf. under ala(h)], \u201cshow me where your forest lies\u201d;<br><strong><em>Tudduwom di manuplit ke he-a,<\/em><\/strong> \u201cshow the one who shall whip\/ whips you\u201d;&nbsp;<br><strong><em>Amtudtuddu,<\/em><\/strong> \u201cindex finger,\u201d used instead of <strong><em>lodlodong<\/em><\/strong> [cf. under lodong].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Conjugation in the Present Tense:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a verb, <strong><em>tuddu<\/em><\/strong> may or may not use an object of the action in a sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>1st Person: <strong><em>Muntudduwak<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;I teach&#8221;<br><br>1st Person dual: <strong><em>Muntuddu ta<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;We teach&#8221;<br><br>2nd Person: <strong><em>Muntuddu ka<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;You teach&#8221;<br><br>3rd Person: <strong><em>Muntuddu hiya<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;He\/She teaches&#8221;<br><br>1st Person plural inclusive: <strong><em>Muntuddu taku<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;We teach&#8221; (We, including you)<br><br>1st Person plural exclusive: <strong><em>Muntuddu kami<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;We teach&#8221;&nbsp; (We, excluding you)<br><br>2nd Person plural\/2nd Person singular (formal): <strong><em>Muntuddu kayu<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;You teach&#8221; (also used in the imperative)<br><br>3d Person plural: <strong><em>Muntuddu da<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;They teach&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conjugation in the Imperative form<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The verb here always implies an object of the action which may not always be mentioned in the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>1st Person: <strong><em>Tudduwak<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;I teach (him or her)&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Tudduwanak<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;Teach me.&#8221; &#8211; Here, the object is the first person.<br><br>1st Person dual: <strong><em>Tudduwanta<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;Let&#8217;s teach (him or her)&#8221;&nbsp;<br><br>2nd Person: <strong><em>Tudduwam<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;Teach (him\/her)&#8221;<br><br>3rd Person: <strong><em>Tudduwana(h)<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;He\/She teaches (him\/her)&#8221;<br><br>1st Person plural inclusive: <strong><em>Tudduwantaku<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;Let&#8217;s teach (him\/her\/them)&#8221;&nbsp;<br><br>1st Person plural exclusive: <strong><em>Tudduwanmi<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;We teach (him\/her\/them)&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>2nd Person plural\/2nd Person singular (formal): <strong><em>Tudduwanyu<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; &#8220;You teach (him\/her\/them)&#8221;&nbsp;<br><br>3d Person plural: <strong><em>Tudduwanda<\/em><\/strong> &#8211;
